OZ510 is a compact, modular and low-cost series that consists of individual analog linear Transmitter (Tx) and Receiver (Rx) modules which when connected via optical fiber create a one-way unidirectional link.
RF over Fiber is a field proven, affordable and flexible alternative to using coaxial cable and offers significant improvements in transporting high frequency RF signals in their native format reliably across a broad range of frequencies. The OZ510 product family enabled adaptive user implementation for more than 15 years, while being redesigned in the same form-factor to improve performance and reduce costs.
The link has low Noise Figure (NF) and high Spurious Free Dynamic Range (SFDR), with operational frequencies from 10 kHz to 3.0 GHz or more.
The OZ510 is designed as a compact RF plug-in package that is easily integrated into your existing platform. This simple plug and play device has very low failure rate with an MTTF at room temperature of 20 years. Virtually any analog RF signal that falls within its bandwidth range can be transported over fiber optic cable using the OZ510 module. Typical applications in which the OZ510 can be utilized include, but are not limited to, IF Satcom Band, L Band, GPS, PCS Cellular, UHF and VHF signal distribution over optical fiber.
The standard optical connector is SC/APC for low back reflection, but FC/APC & LC/APC is also available. OZ510 Rx features a high performance InGaAs photodiode and Tx is based upon a linear Isolated DFB or FP Laser operating at 1.3 µm and 1.5 µm (CWDM Tx selection is available). Average Automatic Power Control (AAPC) is incorporated for optimal optical power stability over the full temperature range. RF interface is via a 50 Ohm SMA connector and optional 75 Ohm SMB is also available. Alarm and monitoring functions are available through the 10-pin connector and + 12 Volts DC power is fed through same connector.
